Line 1 cattle were first used here in the early '70's, purchased from the joint Cooper and Holden sales and from the Fort Keogh Research Station at Miles City, MT. In 1988 we bought our 1st Canadian sire, 38X.
Since then we've purchased both Line 1 and Canadian sires and dams, crossing these bloodlines to breed for the best of both.

We believe that many important factors contribute to making a cowherd as productive and uniform as possible. You can select and select for EPD's and for level of performance, but un-measurable (economic) traits remain absolutely critical:
- Eye and bag pigment
- Disposition
- Correct udders and short teats
- Fleshing ability
All of the above traits contribute to the complete cow. Our requirements for a Super Cow are:
- Calving ease. No help ever in lifetime.
- Perfect, problem-free udder.
- Red eyes and red bag pigment.
- Fleshing ability.
- Early calving.
- Dam of Distinction (DOD designated by Am. Hereford Assn). Most of our purchased and raised Herd Sires are from DOD's.
